If someone demands money, more images, or favors in exchange for not sharing intimate content:

Do not pay or send more content.
Reach out to someone you trust. If you are under 18, ask a trusted adult for help.
Keep threats, usernames, dates, and links; do not make new copies of sexual images of children.
Report the account on the platform and stop contact. Do not erase information that may help with a report.
Contact local law enforcement and check the removal options based on your age in the image.

The age used to choose between Take It Down and StopNCII is your age when the image was taken, not just your current age.

I received a sexual image I did not ask forUnwanted sexual content

You do not have to reply to the sender or share what you received.

Do not forward or publish the image.
Report the message or account using the platform’s tools.
If it may show child sexual abuse, keep the link or the sender’s details without downloading or copying the content. Check IWF’s reporting channel or contact local law enforcement.
Block the sender and review your privacy settings. If you are under 18, ask a trusted adult for support.

I want help removing an image of me taken before I was 18Even if you are now an adult

Take It Down, provided by NCMEC, may help with nude or sexual images or videos taken when you were under 18.

Open Take It Down and review the service’s requirements.
Use only content already on your device. Do not download it or ask anyone to send it so you can use the tool.
Follow the process: a digital fingerprint is created on your device; the file is not sent.
If it has already been posted, also report it on the platform. If you do not have the file, you can visit NCMEC’s CyberTipline.

It works on participating public or unencrypted platforms. It does not guarantee removal of every copy from the internet.

I want help removing an image of me taken at 18 or olderIntimate content shared, or threatened to be shared, without consent

StopNCII may help if you are the person depicted, are at least 18 now, were at least 18 in the image, and still have the file.

Open StopNCII and review its eligibility criteria.
Follow the instructions to create a case. A digital fingerprint is generated without sending the image from your device.
Keep the access details the service provides.
Also report any existing posts directly on the relevant platform.

It works with participating platforms and cannot remove content from the entire internet. If you were under 18 in the image, check Take It Down.

I want to help a child or young person I knowSuspected child sexual abuse imagery

Support the person without judgment and without asking them to send you the content.

Do not download, screenshot, or forward the images.
If the content is on a website, report its address to IWF and on the platform where it appears.
Seek help from local child protection services or law enforcement.
If the person affected already has an image of themselves on their device, they can check whether Take It Down is suitable.

Follow the official form’s instructions. Your report will be assessed; removal is not automatic.

IWF assesses reports of online content. Removal depends on that assessment and the action taken.
